ABOUT ME
Hello! Welcome to my website! My name is Jamie, I am the founder of Simply Comfort and I want to answer some questions you might have about Simply Comfort as well as sharing some detail into me and my products!
How Did Simply Comfort Begin?
Simply Comfort began by my own curiosity, one of the things I enjoy most myself is learning about how things are made and replicating the creation of the products myself! The first candle I made was from a drinks can, I added a wick and heated up some wax and poured it into the can to cool, I then cut the candle out of the can and was relatively surprised at the result. This is when my curiosity peaked and I wanted to learn more! I later brought some small candle tins to experiment with and found out that upscaling the candles leads to some issues, this is when I learnt about wax types, wick types and more. 20+ experimental candles later I discovered a wax and a wick combination that worked well! the candles worked great and also looked pretty professional! This is when I decided to try making scented candles, little did I know this would cause me to run into a few new issues with wick types. I brought 10 different wicks and tested them all with the same material while following the recommended fragrance loads for the candles, I later discovered the wick that worked the best for my product! A few more test and iterations later I created a product that I was proud of. They smelt great and burned just as well!
Why Did I decide to sell candles?
I decided to start selling my candles because I created a product that I was proud of and I wanted to share it with other people! The whole process of candle making is rather relaxing from heating the wax to going out and testing out different scents and finding the right ones for my products. I really do enjoy the whole process.
Why hand pour them all?
I hand pour every candle because I believe it produces candles with the highest quality! Doing small batches at a time really allows me to do quality control and make sure every candle is perfect, I use the candles myself and I wouldn't want to sell a candle that is not as close to perfect as possible, I inspect every candle and tend to take one of each batch to test for myself so quality is guaranteed.
Future Products
Around the same time I started making candles I also made bath bombs! I enjoyed the creative process of making them too but found they did not have as long of a shelf life but I could see myself in the future returning to them and perfecting them to sell on my store. Some other products I have interest in are soaps, wax melts, gift baskets (using all the products I made!) more candles types (pillar candles, different candle scents and jar types) and more!
